Delight 04:51
Oh, those early days of delight When love was the air that we breathed The forest was kind to our eyes And the soil sang to our feet And everything was bathed in sunlight We were young, golden eyed and free Everything was ours to discover We danced among the creatures and the trees We would talk and laugh and sing til daybreak Never lacking intimacy We were brave enough for each other All we had to do was be And everything was bathed in sunlight We were young, golden eyed and free Everything was ours to discover We danced among the creatures and the trees And the mountains stood tall to be conquered The tree branches called to be climbed The questions lined up for their answers As we danced in oceans of time And every morning dew brought a promise That we would never have to leave We sang our songs of breathless wonder Til the skies filled with harmonies And everything was bathed in sunlight We were young, golden eyed and free Everything was ours to discover We danced with each other And the creatures and the flowers and the trees

Will 03:35
Immortal soul I've shown you what is good Health for your bones Fruit that nourishes You don't have to die But you will You moral soul I've shown you what is good I've let you grow And you have chosen this You don't have to die But you will You didn't have to die But you will You never had to die But you had your will You didn't have to die But you will Eternal soul You've seen what isn't good Now, nail yourself to the tree By whose fruit you choose to exist You don't have to die You don't have to die

Young Wood 03:54
We were hiding in the trees of the young wood, the young wood We were hiding in the leaves of the youngest wood Then we saw you walking through, oh the young wood, the young wood And we hid ourselves from you, in the youngest wood Then we heard your voice again From a distance you said Where are you Well we saw you in the cool of the young wood, the young wood We saw you walking through, oh the youngest wood So we hid among the trees of the young wood, the young wood And we hid ourselves in leaves, in the youngest wood Then we heard your voice again From a distance you said Where are you

Whose Voice 02:35
Whose voice turned your head in the night that was not mine, child, not mine? Whose voice filled you with words that were not mine, child, not mine? Whose oil anointed your eyes? Whose breath filled you with lies? Who told you you were naked? Who told you you were naked? Who told you you were naked? Not I, child, not I Whose voice whispered a name that was not mine, child, not mine? Whose voice said the image you bear is not mine, child, not mine? Whose oil anointed your eyes? Whose breath filled you with lies? Who told you you were naked? Who told you you were naked? Who told you you were naked? Not I, child, not I Who told you you were naked? Who told you you were naked? Who told you you were shameful? Not I, child, not I

Strip the flower of its leaves to cover your own shame My colours now seem garish, so I bow under the curse of blame Oh, what's the point of beauty, what's a blossom's purpose anyway? So clear me from the pathway; keep me in my place But when love subdues, it dominates in ways that bring me strength Well I do admit to frailty, I do admit to my mistakes My eagerness and innocence largely led to our break But you stripped my flower of its leaves to cover your own shame! You've reduced me to an ointment to numb the place where your side gapes But when love subdues, it dominates in ways that bring me strength When love subdues, it treasures me in ways that help me find my strength When love subdues, it leads me in a way When love subdues, it leads me in ways That show me strength

Skins 05:59
This skin is not enough I am burning up These leaves are not enough I am drying up Oh for the days when all I had to do was be - Set me free Cover me These hands are not enough I am slipping up This soul is not enough I am giving up Oh for the days when all I had to do was be - Set me free Cover me This world is no longer glad to see me And I'm no longer glad to see myself The consequences of this choice are staggering I need you; I need your help Set me free Cover me

about

Arké (ar-khay) Greek: beginnings, origins

Arké is a concept album that explores how the beginning of our story affects the story we live in every day. It uses seven songs of imagery, poetry and symbolism to paint the picture of our human experience through the lens of Genesis 2 and 3.
